| Abstract | An efficient enantio- and stereocontrolled total synthesis of (+)-boronolide from valeralclehyde is described. The key steps include a Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation, a chelation controlled Grignard reaction followed by Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation and a ring closing metathesis.
